- PS5 digital edition has seen price increases in some regions
- The price has increased in the United Kingdom, Europe, Australia and New Zealand
- The disc unit, however, has seen a general reduction in the price
As of today (April 14, 2025), the digital edition of PlayStation 5 has been beaten with another wave of price increases in some regions. But there are some good news for PS5 Pro owners who seek to collect the disc unit.
Announced through an official PlayStation blog post, Sony has confirmed that the price of PS5 will increase in the United Kingdom, Europe, Australia and New Zealand. The company cited “a challenging economic environment, which includes high inflation and fluctuating exchange rates” as key reasons for the “difficult decision.”
In the United Kingdom and Europe, there have been no price changes for the standard PS5. Otherwise, you can see the current changes here:
Europe |
PS5 Digital Edition – € 499.99 |
PS5 – Without changes |
United Kingdom |
PS5 Digital Edition – £ 429.99 |
PS5 – Without changes |
Australia |
PS5 Digital Edition – Au $ 749.95 |
PS5 – Au $ 829.95 |
New Zealand |
PS5 Digital Edition – NZD $ 859.95 |

In slightly better news, especially for PS5 Pro owners who seek to add a physical disc option to their configuration, the price of the disc unit has been reduced. The new disk unit prices are the following:
Europe |
€ 79.99 |
United Kingdom |
£ 69.99 |
Australia |
Au $ 124.95 |
New Zealand |
NZD $ 139.95 |
The new prices in these regions have been reflected in PlayStation Direct, the official Sony store for PlayStation Products, including the PS5. However, you may still have luck in other retailers if you are currently in the console market.
For example, in the United Kingdom, Argos currently has the digital edition of PS5 included with Astro Bot In a £ 339.99 very friendly for the wallet at this time. Curries has not yet reflected the price increase, and the PS5 digital edition is still available here for £ 389. If you have planned to collect a PS5 soon, then it can be a good idea to jump now before price increases are reflected in all areas.
