Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has a certain degree of influence with the establishment, while his younger brother, Prime Minister Shehbaz, is “more subordinate to the powers they are,” said two politicians who belong to the National Party (NP) of Baluchistan.
Therefore, they said, the NP has to ask the older brother to investigate the problems of Baluchistan and even speak with his younger brother to use his position in the matter.
Speaking with the Express PAkGazette, the NP leaders said they are aware of the fact that the PML-N is in power in the center and indirectly also in Baluchistan, given the fact that the center has a lot of influence in the province.
They said that approaching Nawaz, who is the head of the PML-N, would not have made any sense, if he had also been as subordinate to the establishment as his younger brother. However, that is not the case.
One of the leaders said that Nawaz Sharif can do things while the establishment listens to him.
“The problem of Baluchistan is complex. There are nuances that require adopting a more subtle approach. Nawaz has formulated a five -members committee, including the Minister of Law, the Minister of Defense and the Minister of Planning and Development and two of the NP members to bring things.”
He said the government needs to overcome this “rhetoric of an Indian agent” and make sure it maintains its open door for everyone at all times. “After all, those who feel alienated are obliged to look elsewhere. Why create these failures for India to explode? He added.
An NP legislator said that this matter was even beyond Nawaz Sharif, but politically he is the only leader who can commit to the powers that will be on the subject.
He said that Baluchistan was being ordered by his resources by all players and that no one was working for improvement. He said that previous people used to fear the bosses and feudal lords, but now these powers have created a myriad of mafia that people fear.
He said the powers are making an error after error. He said that all political players and matches have been expelled from the race in the 2024 elections and this will not work. He said they have told Nawaz that they should not expect anything from the regime installed in the province.
“We have great hopes of Mian Nawaz Sharif. We hope he plays his role in addressing the problem. The people of Baluchistan see things differently from the people who live in other places, since we see what happens while others see what is shown,” he added.
