Rain, thunderstorms to continue in the high Pakistan until April 20

It is forecast that a west meteorological system will enter the upper parts of the country on the night of April 16 and it is likely that the region affects until April 20, bringing generalized rains, thunderstorms and possible hail storms.

According to PMD, the rain accompanied by wind and thunder in Chitral, Swat, Dir, Kohistan, Mansehra, Abbottabad and other districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, as well as Gilgit-Baltistan and parts of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, from the afternoon of April 16 to 20, with Gaps Intermittent.

Dust storms and thunderstorms are also probable in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and several districts in the center and north of Punjab, including Lahore, Sargodha, Faisalabad and Gujranwala, particularly on the nights of April 16 and 18. Isolated payment storms can occur during this period.

It is expected that the southern Punjab districts, including Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, fine and Bahawalpur, experience dust storms and winding winds on April 18 and 19.

The authorities have warned about potential damage due to wind, hail and rays. “Wind storms, hail storms and rays can damage loose structures such as electrical posts, trees, vehicles and solar panels,” said the target office.

Farmers have been advised, especially those that harvest wheat, who program online agricultural activities with the prognosis. Earth landslides can also occur in vulnerable mountainous areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltist, Kashmir, Murree and Galliyat.

All interested departments have been urged to remain alert and take caution measures to avoid adverse incidents during this period.
