Islamabad/Rawalpindi/Shangla:
The torrential rains accompanied by storms and Hail wreaked havoc in several regions of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, as well as Islamabad on Wednesday, claiming at least three lives, hurting several others and damaging crops, homes and infrastructure.
The hail storm, accompanied by strong winds, hit several cities and districts, which increases alarms on the mercurial and volatile climate pattern.
Three people lost their lives, while eight wounds suffered in incidents of wall collapses caused by heavy rains and storms in Rawalpindi and Jhelum.
In Jhelum’s Tehsil Sohawa, the torrential rain led to three separate wall collapse incidents. In the town of Shahidan, a dera wall collapsed in a charger vehicle, killing two people in the place and hurting four others.
The injured were transferred to a hospital in Rawalpindi, where the condition of two is still critical.
In another incident in the area of Pindi Darwaza, a woman suffered serious injuries after a wall yielded. A third collapse occurred in Sohala, a nearby town, hurting a child and a young man.
In the Jurisdiction of the Amal Police of Rawalpindi, the border wall of a mosque collapsed, burying a 24 -year -old named Musa under the rubble. Musa, resident of Hazara Colony, died on the spot. His body was transferred to a hospital.
A powerful storm swept Islamabad, which lasted about 35 minutes and unleashed heavy rains and large hail that broke windshields from the vehicle and the trees stripped of branches and leaves. In Tarnol, several trees were uprooted, interrupting traffic and causing a brief chaos on the roads.
Flood situation in KP
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, heavy rains accompanied by thunder and lightning struck several districts, causing the streams and drains to overflow.
In Landi Kotal and its surroundings of Khyber, the powerful winds, hail and intense rain brought a welcome temperature drop. However, sudden floods flooded several parts of the Pak-Faghan road, interrupting traffic. In an incident, flood water in Landi Kotal swept a vehicle parked in the main bazaar. Fortunately, no victims were reported.
The rain also hit the lower direction, where the downpour broke the heat wave, making the weather pleasant. However, heavy rains caused floods in streams, and water level in the Panjkora River increased significantly. The power supply was interrupted when multiple feeders shot.
In Takht Bhai, the thick dark clouds became the day the darkness of dusk while heavy rains continued throughout the region.
