- AMD RX 9060 XT will be launched in May
- That is the word of Chiphell, and other sources have indicated Computex (May 20) before, too, too
- With the NVIDIA RTX 5060 that also opens in May, another shock from head to head, such as RX 9070 vs RTX 5070 models, is in sight
The RX 9060 XT graphics card of AMD, apparently the following in the line from the RDNA 4 range, could leave in May, or that is the new vine statement.
As marked by Harukaze5719 in X (through Videcardz), a usual when it comes to pointing out hardware rumors, a Chiphell editor has presented the idea of a May launch, not to mention any specific date (or even a range of deadlines) in the month.
Chiphell is a forum in China, and the information decreased from there must be taken with some caution, especially because this is a vague statement. But in Theor, and indicates that RX 9060 XT models could appear in just over two weeks (although it will probably be later in the month, and I will return to that point shortly).
Rumors of recent specifications have that RX 9060 XT is equipped with 16 GB and 8 GB of video RAM, as with the RTX 5060 you freshly revealed Nvidia, except that AMD adheres with the oldest GDDR6 memory, instead of following the Route of Update of the Green team towards GDDR7 (further).
It is said that the 9060 XT has half of the graphics nuclei of RX 9070 XT, and in fact half of the memory bandwidth as well. However, it supposedly has a somewhat faster impulse speed, so the conjectures currently have the performance of RX 9060 XT launched to just over half (around 60%) of 9070 XT (add condiments now and not be shy with it). In another place, we have heard that the incoming GPU is likely to be just below the box velocities delivered by RX 7700 XT.
Analysis: May feels good for the launch of 9060 xt: Hopefully the price is also correct
Officially, AMD has only said that RX 9060 models will come in the second quarter, which could spend time until the end of June, and the network team has been quite calm in these RDNA 4 GPUs to the next online from the contrary.
Can it seem like a realistic perspective for an RX 9060 XT launch? Well, it is an average bet, literally in the middle of the second quarter, and of course, AMD will not want it to look behind behind Nvidia. Team Green has just unleashed the RTX 5060 ti (goes on sale today) and the RTX 5060 is due in May (with an attractive MSRP of $ 299).
As Videocardz also observes other rumors of the NVIDIA graphics card partners have suggested a computer launch for the 9060 XT models, which is later carried out (the program begins on May 20, in fact). Therefore, rumors seem to be aligned around a framework that makes sense, but as always, they get carried away by their own risk.
With Nvidia that prices fall on their RTX 5060 models compared to Lovelace, hopefully, this will force AMD to look for more affordable price labels for RX 9060 XT. Chiphell’s rumors suggest that the price could be equivalent to RTX 5060, with perhaps a sale price of $ 299 for the 16 GB and $ 249 turn for the 8 GB model. Other rumors have suggested that this is too optimistic, and we could be looking at 10% to 20% or so.
However, the prices and availability of the real world, instead of the MSRP, will be a key factor in this battle of lower average rank, and fear is much that Nvidia goes wrong in this regard. Even so, we must not judge in advance (although it is difficult not in the case of Team Green), and with all the chaos around tariffs and potential price increases at this time, the waters could not be thicker with the mud, frankly.
It is also worth noting that 8GB graphics cards are not going down well these days, for obvious reasons, since this vram load looks very unstable for any type of future proof, so it does not seem advisable that AMD follows it in the unpopular feet of Nvidia in this sense with that 8GB version of the 9060 UTT, especially as the steps of RX 907 have also avoided. RX 907 models (while the NVIDIA RTX 5070 stuck with a clearly wobble aspect aspect).
Even so, the theory is that this RX 9060 XT 8GB of low -end is launching instead of vanilla Rx 9060 (which the vine is not silent, perhaps encouraging).
Apart from the RAM video, there is some more widely disappointment with the general specification of RX 9060 XT as it is rumored, and feels a bit weak. But as mentioned, the price will be crucial here, and if the base 9060 xt (8GB) ends at $ 250 (or a whisper), that could make it a pleasantly convincing budget gpu.
