The end of Daredevil: born again Season 1 has landed on Disney+, and, hell, bells, paints a gloomy but hopeful image of New York City.
The ninth and last episode of this season, entitled ‘Straight to Hell’, has everything. In fact, it is an intoxicating mixture of melodrama, ultra violent action and narration of stories based on the crime that establishes exciting events to come in the next installment of the Marvel television program.
While the dust is established in the first independent adventure of Daredevil in the Cinemato de Marvel (MCU) universe, I imagine you have many questions about what happens in its last entry. So, let’s break down who, what and why everything.
Complete spoilers continue immediately For the final episode of Daredevil: born againThe first season. Do not proceed if you have not seen it yet.
Who dies in Daredevil: Episode 9 was born again?
No one of note. Well, unless he considers the Gallo police commissioner as an important character in the Marvel television series Phase 5. He had part of his head and his lower jaw, he started from his skull by Wilson Fisk, who completely entered his mayor phase in the last chapter of the popular program.
Coleth of Jeremy Earl also seems to die in the end. He was still in the department of Matt Murdock when the AVTF exploded it with a grenade or two, unless escaped before the explosives were detonated, he also perished.
Apart from Gallo and North, the only people who are played in Born againThe ninth episode is a lot of officers of the Antigigilant Task Force (AVTF). Several of them are executed by Frank Castle/The Punisher when, at the request of Karen Page, he helps Matt Murdock/Daredevil to escape Murdock’s apartment when the AVTF hunted the latter at home.
Does Punisher die in Daredevil: born again?
No. As I said, no one who is part of the main cast of the MCU television program is killed in ‘Straight to Hell’.
However, I can see why people might think that Punisher is not long for this world. Try to face AVTF without help and, while Frank Castle is an expert fighter and shooter, he can’t even fight an entire army of corrupt police. That has demonstrated so much when Fisk’s militia takes it hostage and then hit them.
Fortunately for fans of the iconic version of Jon Bernthal of the Antihero, Castle lives to fight another day. Towards the end of this episode, we learn that it has been imprisoned in the secret lair of Wilson Fisk on Red Hook Port. With the castle ready to appear in Born again Season 2 (more about this later) and/or his own special presentation of Disney+, we will also see more of him in the future.
What is martial law and why mayor Fush imposes it on the reckless: born again the final season?
Martial law has different meanings worldwide. In the United States, it is defined as the temporary implementation of military authority on civil government, which is generally invoked during a time of war, rebellion or natural disaster.
So, why mayor Fush, or, as we will refer to him, Mayor Kingpin due to his criminal activities in a government position, imposes martial law on the state of New York?
The main reason is to continue its battle against the so -called vigilant scourge. Kingpin does not have time or patience for those who take the law in their own hands. In fact, he has fought against his fair part of guards in Daredevil television programs in Disney+ and Netflix, also known as two of the best transmission services in the world, so prohibiting them completely will allow him to fulfill one of his mayor’s promises to clean the streets of his hometown.
The implementation of the martial law will help with that objective. As a byproduct of its promulgation, Kingpin can enforce a daily curfew that will prevent the guards from wandering the streets at night. It also allows your AVTF to use military force in any person suspected of being a criminal, be it an agent of the masked law or a simple thief. Finally, martial law can restrict freedom of expression, allowing Kingpin to dictate the narrative if people try to express the opposition to their totalitarian leadership.
All this, then, was much more difficult for the tastes of Daredevil, Punisher and even Jack Duquesne/Swordsman, the last of which was also imprisoned with Castle, to carry out his personal crusades in New York City.
Is there a scene after the credits in Daredevil: Born Again of season 1 of the season? And how does the special presentation of Punisher establish?
Yes, but it is more a half -loan scene than a final credits stinger.
In it, we see that Castle puts an offensive of charm to convince an AVTF officer, named Anthony Petruccio, that it is not as bad as it has been done.
Once Petruccio is in a wide range of Castle’s prison cell, the latter, grabs Petruccio’s hand, breaks his arm and strangles him to death. All Castle has to do now is to take the keys to the body of Petruccio, freeze (and, potentially, his captive companions) and escape.
Armed with a new revenge, I suspect that Castle will go to war to eradicate the AVTF. This could form the basis of Punisher’s special presentation, which is currently being co -written by Bernthal (by Colider) and could be launched in 2026 (according to The Hollywood Reporter).
Is Foggy very alive in Daredevil: born again?
At this point, it is incredibly unlikely. Yes, we all saw him die in the hands of Bullseye in Daredevil: born againThe premiere of two episodes, but that has not prevented a theory of savage Marvel fans to spread over him pretending his own death. In fact, after the launch of last week’s chapter, the spectators continued to fierce the fact that Foggy was alive.
Well, it seems that it is not. Foggy does not make a surprise return before the final credits of episode 9 are. According to this revelation, it could be retained for the second season of the program, and, with Marvel television chief, Brad Winderbaum, confirming that Elden Henson is part of the cast of season 2 (through Hero’s Brandon Davis phase), this is a possibility.
However, from ‘directly to hell’, we are not wiser about the real fate of Murdock’s closest lawyer and friend.
Where is Spider-Man in Daredevil: Born Again Episode 9?
Who knows? I would think that, with the imposing boss to martial law and hunting in masked people, Peter Parker, at least, would prepare to join the cause of Daredevil to fight for the soul of New York. After all, the city is both its home and Daredevil and Kingpin.
Despite the clear references to the Weblinger in Born again Episode 2 and Born again Episode 3, however, Spider-Man is conspicuous for its absence. However, that is not a complete surprise. Sony has live action rights to one of Marvel’s most famous heroes, so the possibility of Spidey doing a cameo in this show was never in the letters.
Jessica Jones, Luke Cage or any other Marvel Hero of Netflix appear at the end of Born Again season?
No. The fans were waiting for a cameo that pleased the crowd of one of these heroes after Murdock and Page talked about gathering underground resistance to take the fight to Kingpin.
Until now, however, Murdock’s army consists of himself, Page, Cherry, Josie, Angie Kim and a couple of more New York police. That group will grow in season 2, but, at this time, Daredevil is the only superpower that is part of it.
How Daredevil: The last episode of Born Again establishes its second season
The cameras began to roll Daredevil: born again Season 2, which will be part of the Marvel Line Phase 6, at the end of February. But, we know that another delivery has been in development since the beginning of 2023.
However, much narrative will have changed, since the beginning of season 2. In fact, following Born againThe creative review of the Hollywood strikes of 2023, which led to the hiring of a new showrunner and a team aimed at half of the development of season 1, one of the best Disney+ shows has gone in a different direction to its initial design.
So how does ‘Straight to Hell’ configure the next chapter? Apart from everything I have already discussed, we don’t know. A lot of filtered Born again The images of season 2, which spoiled aspects of the end of their ancestor, gave us some clues, but there is little more than we know about what will happen in season 2.
However, there are many interesting plot threads that are hanging. Sheila’s fault for Gallo’s death will convince her to join the group of renegades of Murdock? How will Murdock react with the dropout of Heather Glenn to the Fisk team? What role will Bullseye play in season 2? Will the Murdock group succeed in knocking Kingpin? And all this will be developed before Avengers: Doomsday Does the table completely turn the table as we know it?
With Born again According to reports, season 2 looking at a 2026 launch, we will not have a ridiculously long wait to obtain answers to those questions. The devil, after all, is in the details, so Marvel will want to provide as many as possible next time.
