PM Shehbaz reaffirms the commitment to strengthen ties with the United Kingdom

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthen his relations with the United Kingdom in multiple sectors, including trade, investment, education and exchanges of people to people.

He expressed these points of view during a meeting with the United Kingdom parliamentarian under Faith Secretary of State, communities and resettlement, Lord Wajid Khan, who called him in Islamabad on Thursday.

The prime minister recognized the positive role of the British Pakistani diaspora to promote the strongest bilateral ties, describing them as a vital bridge between the two countries.

He also transmitted his best wishes to His Majesty King Carlos III and the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Keir Starmer.

Prime Minister Sharif appreciated the continuous efforts of Lord Khan to improve the relationships of Pakistan-Real Rosino and explore new collaboration opportunities.

During the meeting, Lord Wajid Khan informed the prime minister about his recent commitments and initiatives aimed at further strengthening bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and the United Kingdom.

Separate, Lord Khan held a meeting with Pakistan Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.

The Minister of State of the Interior Talal Chaudhry, the high British commissioner Jane Marriott and the interior secretary Khurram Agha were also present.

Interior Minister Naqvi emphasized Pakistan’s interest in promoting cooperation with the United Kingdom in all mutually beneficial sectors.

Lord Khan condemned the recent terrorist attack against Jaffer Express and extended the condolences to the families of the victims. He recognized the immense sacrifices of Pakistan in the fight against terrorism.
