The head of the Army personnel (COAS), the general also, said Thursday that the peace and freedom enjoyed in Pakistan today are the result of the sacrifices made by the country’s armed forces.
The Army Chief made these comments during an investiture ceremony held at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi, according to a statement issued by Public Relations between Services (ISPR).
During the ceremony, the general also conferred the military honors, including Sitara-I-Imtiaz (military) and Tamgha-I-BaSalat, to officers and soldiers of the Pakistan army.
The awards were awarded in recognition of exceptional courage during operations and the service distinguished to the nation. The medals granted posthumously were received by the families of the martyrs.
A large number of senior military officials and families from the winners of the award attended the event.
By paying tribute to the martyrs and veterans, Coas Munir declared: “Shuhada (martyrs) and Ghazis (warriors) are our lasting pride. His honor and reverence are a sacred confidence about each Pakistani.”
He recognized the sacrifices of the families of the fallen, expressing a deep admiration for their resistance and courage.
The COA also praised the Pakistan army and the agencies for the application of the law for their continuous efforts to combat terrorism, including the elimination of high -value terrorist objectives during the ongoing contribution operations.
