Maine’s attorney general Aaron Frey, addressed the lawsuit filed against his State by the United States Department of Justice on Wednesday on the position of the State with respect to transgender athletes in the sports of girls and women.
In an interview with CNN, Frey defended the continuous support of his status to trans inclusion, insisting that “there are no security problems” to allow biological men to compete with girls.
“However, we have been working to understand what, if any problem exists with participation. If some of the damages that are really alleged are of some concern and what we have identified, there are really no security concerns,” Frey said.
Frey also said that “there are no concerns” about trans athletes that “simply choose” to compete in the girls category.
