- The EuFy Family S3 Max has contact without contact through Palma recognition
- It is doubled as a video bell with 2K images and detection of AI intruders
- The images can be stored locally or in the cloud with a subscription
Eufy, the company behind some of the best video bells that we have tried here in Techradar, has launched a new intelligent block with palm recognition for entry without touch. The Eufy Family S3 Max, which was launched today, also has an external camera that offers a great angle video, in addition to the incorporated to alert it when a visitor approaches his door, welcome or not.
Eufy was one of the first companies to launch a smart block with the recognition of the palm (the other great name is Philips with its recognized Palm video block of the 5000 series), and has several advantages over the digital footprints scanners, which are a more common option for keyless entrance.
The recognition of the palm works by detecting the unique pattern of the blood vessels in the hand, and comparing this with an authorized image database. In the case of family S3 Max, these data are stored locally to protect it from possible security violations. This means that it can be opened without physical contact, and its precision is not affected by the conditions of the skin, sweat or dirt.
Palmeras recognition also uses more data points than a digital fingerprint sensor or facial recognition, which makes it more precise and much more difficult to deceive.
Who is there?
The family S3 Max also works as a video bell, so there is no need for two separate devices. It has a 2K camera and a 140 -degree field of vision both vertically and horizonally (like the high -end ring video bells), which gives you a view of head to head visitors, in addition to packages that remain at your door.
He will receive an alert on his phone when someone sounds, and the blocking software includes detection of people who can let him know if someone is grooveing on his property.
Video images can be saved in the cloud with a paid subscription, or locally with an external hard drive Eufy Homebase 3.
We are currently testing the EuFy Family S3 Max to see how it compares with the best smart locks of other brands, and will bring you a complete review very soon. It is available to buy now directly from EUFY and Amazon for $ 399.99 (around £ 300 / au $ 630).
