Pakistan has not reported a single case of polio since February 10, 2025, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was informed during a review meeting on Thursday.
By chairing the session on the eradication efforts of polyomyelitis, the prime minister praised the work of the health authorities, international partners and workers of first -line polyomyelitis for its implacable commitment to eradicate the disease.
He addressed officials to intensify public awareness and guarantee the mobilization of the community as the country prepares for its next campaign nationwide anti-political as of April 21.
“Every child under five must receive the vaccine during this trip,” said Shehbaz Sharif.
The prime minister also emphasized the importance of maintaining routine immunization against other potentially mortal diseases along with the polio campaign.
During the meeting, the officials informed the Prime Minister about the next campaign against the polio, scheduled for April 21 to 27. Around 4.5 million children will be vaccinated during the one -week trip, with the participation of 415,000 polio workers throughout the country.
The performance of the campaign will suffer a validation of third parties between April 28 and 30, in line with the instructions of the Prime Minister.
The officials also stressed that the monitoring of the cold chain for the campaign is being managed through a digital monitoring system, ensuring the safety and effectiveness of vaccines.
The meeting was attended by Federal Minister Syed Mustafa Kamal, special representative of Poly Ayesha Raza Faooq, Minister of Health of Sindh, Dr. Azra Fazal Pechuho, main secretaries of all provinces and territories, and representatives of international associated organizations.
