The United Kingdom is ready to partner with Pakistan to help increase its economy to $ 2 billion, said British High Commissioner of Pakistan Jane Marriott, reaffirming the long -term commitment of Great Britain with the economic development of the country.
When addressing leaders at the Islamabad business summit, Marriott said the United Kingdom is determined to strengthen its strategic association with Pakistan in several vital sectors, including finance, health, education, engineering and energy.
He pointed out that the United Kingdom remains one of the largest providers of financial, commercial and commercial services worldwide, and sees great potential in Pakistan’s economy, especially given its young and dynamic population.
“If Pakistan continues in his current path of reforms and economic stability, there are many reasons to believe that his economy could reach the $ 2 billion brand,” said Marriott.
The High Commissioner described the relations between the two countries as “two sides of the same currency”, adding that its association has gained significant land in recent years. The bilateral trade between the United Kingdom and Pakistan is currently £ 4.4 billion, and both parties have established an objective to double this figure to £ 10 billion in the coming years.
Marriott said that beyond trade, both nations were working together in important initiatives such as the Reko Diq mining project, along with important collaborations in clean energy and the response to climate change. He stressed that Great Britain’s approach was not only economic but also social, supporting reforms in education, medical care and engineering.
Referring to the recent progress of Pakistan in economic reforms, particularly under the programs of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Marriott said that the United Kingdom fully supports these efforts and considers them essential for long -term stability.
She revealed that Great Britain is currently financing a $ 45 million program aimed at macroeconomic development in Pakistan. In addition, the United Kingdom actively participates in the promotion of clean and green energy initiatives, which described as crucial for the sustainable future of Pakistan.
“Our collaboration with Pakistan is guided by long -term strategic thinking and a shared belief in Pakistan’s enormous potential,” he added.
The envoy praised the organizers of the Business Summit, particularly Azfar Ahsan, for creating a platform where global business leaders, experts and policy formulators could exchange ideas about the construction of a prosperous future for Pakistan.
Marriott concluded by emphasizing that the Association of Britain with Pakistan is based on mutual respect and shared interests, and that the United Kingdom is ready to play its role in helping Pakistan achieve a stronger, more resistant and inclusive economy.
