- Samsung’s first Micro-Led RGB TV will be 115 inches
- It can be the only model this year, although the smallest models will continue
- Technology is also due this year of Hisense
Samsung’s next TV is a big problem: it will use an RGB backlight, which seems to be the next key technology in high -end televisions.
Unfortunately, the TV will be great in two other aspects: it will be an 115 -inch model, too large for many houses, and will come with a great price that will also make it unseakivable for many.
We have covered Samsung’s LED RGB television plans before: the firm showed a micro-led television of 8K RGB in CES 2025. That was a 98-inch model, but Samsung said at that time that the real product could be of different size … although we did not expect that bigger.
The news is produced through the ELEC commercial site, which says that RGB Micro-Led television technology will be used in “ultra premium alignment”, with more models that appear after 115-inch television debut this year.
Why this great television will be a big problem
This is not a traditional micro-dried TV. That technology works as Oled, since each pixel generates its own light. Samsung’s rgb micro-led nickname is for televisions that use a backlight panel and LCD as well as its QLED televisions, but the background light can show a wide range of colors, it will not only be a tone, which allows much better color depth and more efficient brightness levels.
Samsung told us previously that when using a micro-read backlight instead of a mini backight for these sets would deliver “three times more LED”, which means a better brightness and more local attenuation areas for more precise control. However, I would suggest that we are not really talking about LEDs that are really in Micro-Led.
Even so, the Techradar team has seen this type of television in the meat, and we are very excited about technology: while the first televisions that use it will have huge price labels, Mini-LED has collapsed in price and it is likely that micro-read does the same.
Hisense has announced that his first RGB RGB model will arrive this year, and will be 116 inches, so it will probably also have a great price. TCL has also confirmed the plans to launch a TV with this technology in 2026.
They have told us that technology will generally cost much more than the backlit televisions of current mini led … but not if it is stuck to more than 100 inches, where each Television is super expensive. We will have to see if the sizes can reach something more realistic next year; Otherwise, the current technology of mini-led by the current budget will remain dominant for a while.
