The Government will seek expressions of interest next week for the sale of the international airlines of Pakistan, said the Ministry of Privatization on Thursday, days after it reported its first annual gain in more than two decades.
Pakistan has been trying to sell a 51-100% participation in the carrier full of debts, to raise funds and reform state cash drainage companies, as provided in a program of international monetary funds of $ 7 billion.
His failed attempt to privatize Pakistan International Airlines last year received a single offer, well below the initial price of more than $ 300 million.
The Board of the Privatization Commission has approved the search for new offers, the Ministry said in a statement.
“The Board approved the prequalification criteria for the selection of potatoes,” he said. He added new expressions of interest in buying between 51 and 100% of the airline they would look for next week.
Pakistan has changed almost all the inherited debt of the national operator with the Government’s books after the issues raised by the bidders led to the failure of the last attempt to privatization.
Muhammad Ali, government advisor on privatization, said all the problems raised at the time of the failed attempt last year.
