- Nintendo has silently eliminated the mention of the VRR support of some of its regional Switch 2 websites
- The US websites, Canada and Japan no longer present the mention of the VRR support
- When writing, the United Kingdom’s website still mentions VRR, but it could still be eliminated
Nintendo has silently eliminated any mention of the variable update rate (VRR) rate of some of its Switch 2 regional websites, suggesting that the console may not offer the function after all.
That is according to Oliver Mackenzie of Digital Foundry (through VGC), who saw that the US website has been updated since Nintendo Switch 2 Direct, and no longer mentions the VRR support for the attached game.
He now says: “Receive all the details with screen resolutions up to 4K when connecting the Nintendo Switch 2 system to a compatible television using the dedicated spring. The system also supports HDR and tables of pictures of up to 120 fps on compatible televisions.”
The US website has not been updated only, but also the sites of Canada and Japan.
When writing, the United Kingdom site still mentions that the 2 “admits HDR, VRR and box speeds of up to 120 fps on compatible televisions”, but Nintendo can be in the process of eliminating it from all its regional sites.

It is not clear why Nintendo has made changes, but Mackenzie theorizes that VRR support may not be available at the launch. However, the Switch 2 in Handheld seems to still offer VRR thanks to NVIDIA G-SYNC, which will guarantee an “ultra soft game without tears.”
Everything we needed to know about the specifications of the Switch 2 was revealed during the direct earlier this month, where it was also confirmed that the console will have a larger screen, from 6.2 inches to 7.9 inches, 256 GB of internal storage and a mouse function for its magnetic joy controllers.
Nintendo Switch 2 will be launched on June 5, 2025, for $ 449.99 / £ 395.99 or $ 499.99 / £ 429.99 for a Mario de Mario Kart bunch.
It can now pre-order the console in the United Kingdom, but the early orders of the United States and the early orders in Canada have been delayed as Nintendo evaluates the potential impact of rates.
