Prince William’s decision to appoint Jason Knauf as CEO of the Earthshot award has raised his eyebrows, arriving months after Knauf, the former Secretary of Communications in the Kensington Palace, spoke very well of the Prince of Wales, praising his potential as king.
In an interview with 60 Australia Minute, Knauf spoke positively about the future role of Prince William as king.
The former CEO of the Royal Foundation said that William will bring [so] A lot of wisdom and connection with the feet on the ground “when it becomes king.
Knauf also described Prince William as “what you see is what you get”, which implies that it is genuine and authentic.
His appointment has already caused reactions of some online people who see a type of reward for the services provided for William.
Knauf played an important role in the crack that broke out between Prince Harry and his older brother.
He had deposed Meghan Markle on a lawsuit while still worked for Prince William and Kate Middleton.
He sent an email to the Simon case, then Prince William’s private secretary, raising concerns about Meghan’s behavior towards the staff.
In this email, Knauf claimed that Meghan had intimidated two personal assistants, expelling them from home, and was undermining the confidence of a third staff member.
This email became a point of inflammation in the growing crack among the brothers.
Meghan’s team strongly denied these accusations, framing them as part of a smear campaign calculated by the palace, while Harry described the impact of the escape as leaving Meghan in tears, accusing the “Gaslighting” institution.
Knauf’s role deepened even more during Meghan’s privacy demand in 2021 against the associated newspapers, Sunday mail editors, for the publication of a private letter he wrote to his father, Thomas Markle.
As the case moved to the Court of Appeals, Knauf provided a declaration of witnesses that contradicts the previous Meghan claims.
He revealed that Meghan had consulted him in the draft of the letter, suggesting that he wrote it with awareness that he could seep, a detail used by the newspaper to argue that he was not really private.
In their Netflix, Harry and Meghan documentary, they expressed commotion and betrayal about this, with their lawyer Jenny AFIA stating that Knauf’s statement could only have been authorized by his boss.
Harry called him a sign of the “symbiotic relationship” between the real institution and the press, which led him to leave the United Kingdom. Knauf’s representatives replied that he was asked to provide evidence from both parties and remain neutral, acting on legal advice.
