Karachi:

The current strike by the Association of Transporters of Goods has severely interrupted commercial activity in both Karachi ports.

According to the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Pakistan (FPCCI), the absence of heavy transport vehicles to collect goods has not only affected the delivery of imported and exported articles, but also presents a serious risk for the national economy.

The president of the Association of Transporters of Assets, Tariq Gujjar, declared that the load management in the ports and container terminals has stopped completely during the last 36 hours.

On average, 10,000 containers are transported daily between Karachi and other parts of the country. This movement has now stopped completely.
