The Vice Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Ishaq Dar, arrived in Kabul on Saturday for an official visit of a day aimed at improving cooperation with the interim leadership of Afghanistan, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan.
Dar was received by senior Afghan officials upon arrival, said Express News.
It is accompanied by a high -level delegation that includes the Secretary of the Interior, the Secretary of Railways and High Level Representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Federal Income Board.
During the visit, it is expected that GIV will meet with Afghan Prime Minister, Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund, and other key intermediate officials.
The conversations will include a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs Afghano, Amir Khan Muttaqi, with formal negotiations that take place at the delegation level.
“The visit reflects Pakistan’s continuous commitment to a stable and cooperative relationship with Afghanistan,” said the ministry.
“During the visit of a day, it will resort to Afghan interim prime minister; he will meet with the Vice Prime Minister of the Economic Affairs of Afghan, and will hold conversations at the level of delegation with the Minister of Foreign Affairs interim,” Shafqat Ali Khan’s foreign office before journalists told foreign office.
According to Khan, meetings will cover all the scope of Pakistan-Afghanistan relations, with an approach to strengthening cooperation in safety, commerce, regional connectivity and people’s contacts to people.
He described the visit as a reaffirmation of Pakistan’s commitment to a sustained commitment to Afghanistan.
In response to a question, Khan said that all key issues will be discussed, including concerns about terrorist shelters. He confirmed that Pakistan has constantly raised the issue of sanctuaries and would continue to seek a constructive resolution.
The visit comes in the middle of a week of greater bilateral activity. A Pakistani delegation led by Ambassador Muhammad Sadiq Khan visited Kabul, while an Afghan delegation headed by its Minister of Commerce held meetings in Islamabad.
During the recent session of the Joint Coordination Committee of Pakistan-Fanganistan (JCC), Pakistani officials noticed a possible change in the approach of Afghan Talibanos towards the forbidden Tehrik-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
