Chitral:
The four-day Qaqlasht festival began in the picturesque Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chitral district on Friday.
The extravagance event, organized by the Department of Tourism of Provincial Culture under the public agenda of Prime Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, will exhibit colorful sports, traditional games, including pole, football, cryket, volleyball and cultural activities in the picturesque tourist destination Qaqlasht in the high chitral.
The festival was inaugurated by the attached commissioner of the Upper Chitral, Hasebur Rehman Khan Khalil.
The opening ceremony was attended by the police officer of the district of the Upper Chitral, the assistant commissioner (headquarters), the additional commissioner of Morkhow/Torkho, members of the event committee, people from several areas of life, professional athletes of different sports and thousands of tourists and spectators.
Speaking on the occasion, DC Hasebur Rehman said the provincial government and the administration of the District of Alta Chitral promised to promote healthy activities.
He stressed that healthy activities encourage healthy young people, who in turn represented their region and country in national and international sporting events.
