Peshawar:
Doctors’ associations in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa have joined a new joint platform called Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Doctors Council, warning the provincial government that immediately leaves the harassment of doctors.
On Friday a council meeting was held in Peshawar, chaired by Dr. Abdul Majid. Dr. Sibghatullah, Dr. Rizwan Rajput and Dr. Fazal Manan of the Association of Provincial Physicians attended.
Dr. Asif Yousafzai of the Association of Young Doctors, Professor Dr. Muse Kaleem of the Teaching Table, Dr. Haroon de la PMA, Dr. Nisar of the Forum of Islamic Doctors, Dr. Zulfiqar of the forum of doctors of the villages and Dr. Daniyal de la Pima attended the meeting.
Participants rejected what they called the “cruel” professional tax for doctors for the provincial government. They demanded that the tax be restored to previous rates in line with other provinces.
To address the issue, a three -members committee was formed, which will hold conversations with the government. The Council also demanded to stop immediately to doctors.
The participants demanded the withdrawal of the letters issued by the Department of Special Taxes and Taxes to the Finance Directors of MTI and the General KP accountant with respect to the salary deductions of the doctors.
“The salaries of all doctors, including the officers of the House of Representatives, medical officers in practices and medical officers should increase in proportion to inflation in the next provincial budget. The strong fines that doctors impose on doctors for the health commission on behalf of the registry should be abolished immediately,” the meeting demanded.
Along with this, the harassment of doctors must be stopped in the name of the drug sales license and the judicial decision on the matter must be implemented.
Since 2017, the Public Service Commission (PSC) has not published any work announcement, which called a serious injustice.
The Council demanded that jobs be announced immediately through the Public Service Commission. In MTI hospitals, instead of the Policy Board, the recruitment and promotion of doctors must be guaranteed in accordance with the procedures and standards formulated by PMDC as the rest of the country, he added.
The obstacles in the appointment of public officials to whom the Board of Governors of MTI has given Noc must be eliminated and public officials must also have the opportunity to serve in MTI.
The violations of merit and nepotism in the appointments in the MTI hospitals must stop immediately and the supremacy of merit in the appointments must be guaranteed, the Council said.
According to the announcement issued by the main secretary on the Independent Monitoring Unit (IMU), the promotion of doctors has been made based on the performance of the Independent Monitoring Unit (IMU). The doctors community has serious reservations about this and must be abolished and the promotion must be made on the basis of ACR.
