Diego Luna believes that it is the right decision by Disney to allow Andor Finish after two seasons instead of one.
Chatting with PakGazette before Andor Season 2 debuts at Disney+, Luna expressed satisfaction and relief for the opportunity to tell “the story we wanted” in the Rogue one Prequel Series. In fact, Luna was glad that Disney allowed him, the Tony Gilroy showrunner, and the rest of the cast and the crew of the opportunity to conclude his narrative, instead of canceling the program after a single season.
Luna’s concerns about the Star Wars television series that end before their time are not unfounded. Despite the critical acclamation and prizes nominations AndorThe first season met, it is no secret that its development was an expensive effort.
Originally, Andor It was supposed to be executed for five seasons, with its last installment that leads directly to the events of Rogue oneHowever, according to a report published by Forbes last December, it is estimated that the price to create its first two seasons was $ 645 million astronomical.
With Disney reducing costs in all areas during the second period of Bob Iger as CEO, AndorThe five seasons plan would never materialize.
Fortunately, during the development of one of the best first season of Disney+ Shows, Gilroy had a “great idea”, according to Luna, to condense the arches of Four Seasons characters and the broader narration in a more season that includes 12 episodes.
It is a format that Gilroy discussed with me before the launch of the season 1 in August 2022, with the main writer of the series calling them “very sexy” time jumps that would represent a unique but important event in each of the four years prior to the beginning of the beginning of the beginning of Rogue one. Each period of 12 months will cover three episodes each, which will allow each narrative at the same time and space to represent their individual stories.

“From the beginning [of this show]We knew what we wanted to do, “Luna told me.” Structurally, the plan changed because we soon realized that we could not commit ourselves to five seasons. A lot of energy, time and money is needed to make one, because every season has been two and a half years of our lives.
“But, while we were shooting the first season, Tony had this great idea of squeezing four seasons in one and essentially making four chapters.
“I also believe that, today in a long duration of narration and television in general, many programs begin without knowing where or when they will end. But, from beginning to end, we tell the story we wanted to tell and that is something beautiful to be able to do.”
