Pakistan and Qatar have agreed to adopt a joint strategy for better cooperation in the fight against drug trafficking, marking a key development after ongoing discussions under the framework of the Gulf Cooperation Council (CCG).

The agreement reached a high-level meeting at the headquarters of the Anti-Narcotic Force (ANF) in Islamabad, where a delegation of the General Drug Directorate of Qatar received comprehensive information on the counter-mirror efforts of Pakistan, said Express News.

Both parties held detailed conversations about mutual areas of interest, reiterating their shared commitment to address drug -related crime through intelligence exchange and operational collaboration.

The Qatar delegation also visited Islamabad International Airport as part of a broader evaluation of Pakistan’s technical infrastructure.

Qatar officials expressed their preparation to support Pakistan to improve their operational capabilities.

The commitment is part of Pakistan’s broader effort to forge regional long -term associations aimed at stopping narcotics.

The officials described the dialogue as a “constructive step” towards the institutionalization cooperation of the borders.

The ANF said that conversations reflect a mutual understanding that regional threats require coordinated responses, especially in the face of evolving smuggling networks.

More commitments are expected in the coming months.
