The Christian community is celebrating Easter today with great religious zeal, devotion and reverence.
To guarantee security, security personnel have been deployed in all churches throughout the country, where CCTV travel doors and cameras have been installed. Easter worship services are scheduled to celebrate between 9:00 am and 12:00 pm
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif extended sincere greetings to the Christian community in Pakistan and around the world on the occasion of Easter, recognizing their role in national development and asking for unity and harmony between religions.
In his message, President Zardari said Easter is a moment of hope, renewal and celebration of life. “It reminds us of compassion, sacrifice and forgiveness. The Christian community has always played a vital role in the development of Pakistan. We deeply recognize their contributions in education, health, social welfare and public service,” he said.
Zardari reiterated that the Pakistan Constitution guarantees the rights of minorities and affirmed the continuous commitment of the government with its elevation and empowerment.
“We are proud of his dedication to peace, harmony and coexistence in society,” he added.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also conveyed his warmest desires to the Christian community, emphasizing the importance of Easter as a symbol of faith and renewal.
“Easter reminds us of the lasting power of faith and the teachings of Jesus Christ, whose message of compassion and love continues to inspire humanity,” he said.
The prime minister praised the Christian community for his historical contributions to the formation of Pakistan and his continuous role in the socioeconomic progress of the country.
He expressed the hope that Christians remain active participants in the configuration of an inclusive and united Pakistan.
The Sindh Prime Minister Murad Ali Shah also congratulated Christians for Easter, saying: “Easter teaches mutual respect and love. Christian citizens have played a key role in Pakistan’s development. We respect all minorities and believe that love and harmony lead to national progress.”
