JUI-F refutes reports on the decision about PTI Alliance


The Jamiat Ulema-E-Islam (JUI-F) has denied the reports of the media that suggest that it has formally ruled out an alliance with Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI), calling such not verified statements.

In a statement issued on Sunday, a Jui-F spokesman said that no official announcement has yet been taken regarding the decisions taken during the meeting of the Central General Council of two recently completed in the party.

The spokesman emphasized that “the news reports circulating in the media do not reflect any formal statement of the party.”

The clarification occurs in response to the widespread coverage of the local media that states that the JUI-F has decided not to ally with PTI or join any coalition formed at instances.

These reports also suggested that the party had resolved to maintain an independent opposition role in Parliament and evaluate parliamentary issues case by case.

The part confirmed that key decisions were made during the meeting, but said they will officially disseminate in due time.

In January, a delegation by Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI) met with Jamiat Ulema-E-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F), Maulana Fazlur Rehman, in his residence, inviting the party to join a great alliance proposed against the Government.

Later, in March, Maulana Fazlur Rehman declared that the party would make a decision regarding a possible alliance with PTI after Eidul Fitr.
