- iOS 18.5 Beta 3 has just been released to developers
- Little update probably focuses on error corrections
- All big changes seem to come in iOS 19 later in the summer
Apple has just launched the third beta developer of iOS 18.5, and comes with some settings that could improve mail and configuration applications for you. But it is a very light update in general, and if I expected great alterations, it may be disappointed.
The first change can be found in the configuration application. There, the Beta iOS 18.5 has added a more prominent AppleCare+ banner to the top of the page dedicated to the Apple guarantee service. You can also find more information about AppleCare+ for each product registered in the Apple account section of the configuration application, which makes Apple’s service easier to find.
The other new article found in the beta iOS 18.5 is related to the mail application. In this case, Apple has added control to disable contact photos on its email input tray. This can be found playing the three -point button in the upper right corner of mail, then selecting the option to show contact photos.
Previously, I had to dig in the mail configuration to find this control.
A minor update
It is worth noting that these changes have been present in the Betas iOS 18.5 above, as we described previously in April. Without any other prominent feature that is added to the latest version of iOS 18.5 Beta 3, this suggests that the last update could focus on error corrections behind the scene and performance improvements.
We do not know when exactly iOS 18.5 will be launched out of beta, but we do know that IOS 18.4.1 is available to the general public.
This update focuses on error corrections, with solutions for a variety of problems as part of the launch. That includes a solution for a carplay insect that made entertainment in the car of many people inoperable or difficult to use.
Looking later, Apple will announce iOS 19 at its World Developer Conference (WWDC) on June 9. It is rumored that this update comes with a wide design review and a list of new interesting features, which probably take a lot of development time in Apple.
If that is the case, the lack of important updates in iOS 18.5 makes much more sense, and it could be a sign that the most substantial updates are on their way.
