- Apple has eliminated “Available now” from its Apple Intelligence website
- The change occurs after the BBB National Advertising Division recommended that it clarified or eliminated the details of the availability
- The problem is around the language when the characteristics of Apple’s intelligence and waiting for the next
Apple has long said that there is a long way ahead for Apple’s intelligence, but it has been more a long -term path since Apple’s AI was announced for the first time on WWDC 2024. At the beginning of 2025, Siri’s promising Siri characteristics were backed up to the ‘next year’, which is quite vague.
Now, Apple has made a change on its Apple Intelligence destination page, dropping the slogan ‘available now’ from below “AI for the rest of us.” Surprisingly, the technological giant based in Cupertino does not seem to have made the decision to eliminate the message itself, but was asked about the National Advertising Division of the National Programs (NAD) of Better Business Bureau.
In a shared statement, the NAD recommends “that Apple Inc. modifies or discontinues advertising statements regarding the availability of certain characteristics associated with the launch of its Apple intelligence tool with AI in the US.” It seems that the launch characteristics, including the new Siri, were not yet available, were not clear enough on the page.
The NAD states that Apple Intelligence’s destination pages made Apple’s intelligence characteristics, include priority notifications, image players, chatgpt image and integration wand, as well as Genmoji, “were available at the launch of the iPhone 16 and the iPhone 16 Pro”.
However, Apple Intelligence did not start its launch until IOS 18.2, which was launched after the new iPhones. NAD’s argument establishes that the disseminations, presented as “foot notes” or “small printing disseminations” were not clear enough.
The BBB NAD also had similar thoughts about Apple that showed Siri’s upcoming characteristics, such as the consciousness on the screen and personal content, on the same page as the heading “available now”.
The NAD even connected with Apple, who informed them that “Siri’s characteristics would not be available in the original timeline” and that the corresponding language was updated. This evidently happened at the same time that Apple released one of its ads with the new Siri.
Apple, in the statement, says: “While we do not agree with the NAD findings related to the characteristics that are available for users now, we appreciate the opportunity to work with them and we will continue their recommendations.” And it is clear that the recommendations were taken seriously, since “available now”, according to Snapshots seen in the Wayback machine By Techradar, it was eliminated on March 29, 2025.
That is long before this launch of the National Advertising Dision that makes Apple stop or modify its language, but also after the technological giant confirmed the delay with the Siri infused with AI as of February 7, 2025.
Anyway, it is clear that Apple is taking its ducks in a row, and it is good to be clearer with consumers. Techradar has communicated with Apple asking for more comments, and we will update it when and if we receive news.
