The stronger spatial ties with China were looking for


Islamabad:

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said Tuesday that Pakistan was anxious to increase cooperation with China in space technology fields, space satellites, telecommunications and satellite Internet.

The prime minister made these comments at a meeting with a delegation from the Chinese Space Technology Company Galaxy Space, directed by the company’s president, Xu Ming.

When calling China, a very reliable friend and a strategic partner, the prime minister emphasized that Pakistan gives great importance to the space technology sector.

The members of the delegation also expressed a great interest in investing in the Pakistan space technology industry and collaborating in joint projects with Pakistani spatial institutions and private telecommunications companies.

Thanking the Pakistan government for a warm hospitality, they told Prime Minister that his meetings with officials of the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunications and Supparco were very useful.

Separately, on Tuesday, the prime minister expressed satisfaction with the growing trajectory of bilateral ties with Rwanda, and said that Pakistan seeks to further strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation in several fields, particularly trade, investment and exchanges of people to people.

The prime minister met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the International Cooperation of the Ruanda Ambassador, Olivier JP Nduhungyarehe, who is currently in an official visit to Pakistan.

The prime minister welcomed the dignitary and transmitted his good wishes to President Paul Kagame and Prime Minister Edouard Nigirente de Ruanda.

He extended an invitation to President Kagame to make an official visit to Pakistan.

The prime minister congratulated Ruanda for opening his resident mission in Islamabad and said it would be essential to improve bilateral trade, particularly, through an improved B2B interaction.

Meanwhile, the prime minister emphasized Tuesday that Pakistan, together with other countries affected by climate change, requires special financial assistance from international financial institutions to address the challenges raised by climate change.

During a meeting with Luc Triangle, general secretary of the Confederation of the International Union (ITUC), in the home of the Prime Minister, the prime minister said that Pakistan is among the countries most affected by climate change. “The floods of 2022 alone caused losses for a value of $ 30 billion.”

He pointed out that these climate -related challenges have led to significant difficulties and losses of employment for workers in Pakistan.
