The United States Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) has lost two senior officials the same day. Bob Lord and Lauren Zabierek announced that they would leave the agency on LinkedIn, in the period of an hour.
Bob Lord served as a senior technical advisor at CISA since 2022. Before that, he was the Security Director of the National Democratic Committee as of 2018, where he joined after approximately two years as Director of Information Security of Yahoo.
Lauren Zabierek, on the other hand, was a main advisor to the CISA with previous roles in the registered future and the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency.
Brain drain
Both expressed their gratitude to have the opportunity to serve their country, and none said where they would go from here.
In a new report, the registration says that the exits are the last sign of a “brain drainage” that takes place in CISA. “The Trump administration could soon eliminate up to 1,300 employees, reducing approximately half of CISA’s full -time personnel and another 40% of its contractors,” he said.
The publication also recalled that the agency also tried to fire 130 probability employees, but was blocked by the court. In addition, the National Security Department tried to buy employees who voluntarily resigned before April 14.
The executive director of the CISA, Bridget Bean, said that the agency “remains focused on the laser to work in the public and private sectors to improve the cybersecurity of the nation.”
“That is why we continue to urge companies to develop safe products by design, instead of spending the cost of poorly designed products to consumers,” he added. “While CISA’s approaches to ensure by design evolve, our commitment to the principles remains firm.
