- The latest messages from Google Beta hides a version that works at the Silencando Group Chat
- The feature requires some effort to work, but it seems that it will be launched soon
- There is no word on a release date still
Earlier this month, we reported on rumors that suggested that Google messages would obtain a repetition function so that it can temporarily disable the notifications of group chat, and now it seems even more likely that this feature is on its way.
That is according to a new disassembly by Android Authority of the last compilation of Google messages, in which AA’s team really managed to work the tool, suggesting that it is very close to throwing.
The repetition function will see a new aggregate button to the toolbar (which appears at the top of the screen when pressing for a long time in a chat).
Choosing repetition will cause a second menu to appear, where you can choose to silence a group chain for an hour, eight hours, 24 hours or ‘always’. The menu also reveals that “other members will not see that it turned this chat.”
You can also adjust your repetition options within the user profiles, with this option that gives you the ability to adjust notifications, such as silencing everything except the direct mentions in the chat.
An essential group chat
The silencing can be an invaluable group chat function. Sometimes you just have to concentrate on something for a few hours and you don’t want your phone to be bombarded with notifications. And we have all been in the family group chat, which could be just a few very active relatives who sound messages from one side to another; It would be rude to leave, but only about 5% of the messages are relevant to you (and if a message is relevant, the sender can always @ you).
The silencer allows you to eliminate some distractions from your life without completely appealing socially.
As with all filtered functions, there is no guarantee that this will be launched; However, given how deep the silencing characteristic seems to be, it seems likely to be on the way, but on the road soon.
If it eventually launches, it seems that it could join two other very useful characteristics of Google messages that are also being clogged by the latest beta version.
