Other reprisal measures include the immediate suspension of the Indo Water Treaty, a key agreement to share water mediated by the World Bank in 1960.
India cited Pakistan’s supposed support for cross -border terrorism as justification for suspension.
In addition, India closed the Attari-Wagah border, the only land that crosses between the two nations, and canceled all the regional visas of southern Asia issued to the Pakistani citizens. Those who were already in India under those visas received 48 hours to leave.
India also declared all the Pakistani defense advisors in New Delhi Non Grata and is remembering its own Islamabad military personnel. The personnel of the High Commission of India in Pakistan are being reduced from 55 to 30.
