
The upper officers retired from the Pakistan army submitted a request in a Rawalpindi responsibility court, seeking permission to comply with the founding imprisonment of Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf in Central Jail Adiala.
The four applicants include Major General (RETD) Masood Burki, Lieutenant General (RETD) Zahid Akbar, Lieutenant General (RETD) Sikandar Afzal and Lieutenant General (RETD) Farooq Khan.
The 71-year-old Cricket player became a politician has been behind bars since August 2023 after he was hired in multiple cases ranging from corruption to terrorism from his expulsion of power through the motion of non-confile opposition in April 2022.
In his plea, presented through the lawyer Ahsan Ayaz Khan, the army officers cited who had a long association with the founder of PTI.
“It is necessary to meet the founder of PTI to discuss some important issues,” said army retired officers.
Looking for permission to meet with the former prime minister, they urged the court to organize their meeting with Khan as soon as possible to discuss “important national issues,” they added.
The petition was filed before the court of judge ATC Amjad Ali Shah.
