The former NFL star, Ryan Fitzpatrick, pointed to the Mariscal de los Miami Dolphins, Zach Wilson, for the decision to use No. 0 during the 2025 season.
Wilson’s number appeared on the official page of the Dolphins list. He signed with Miami after a few years as an internal initiator with the New York Jets and a backup with the Denver Broncos.

But Fitzpatrick was particularly disturbed by decision No. 0.
“Hi Zach, there is always time to change your mind … I know you are a friend of Braxton Berrios and I know it worked for Orlando Woolridge, but if you are trying to build your career again and be taken seriously (which I am sure you are), this will not help …” The Amazon Prime NFL analyst wrote in X.
Fitzpatrick then explained why he did not believe that Wilson was taken seriously in his attempt to become a head of the NFL if he used No. 0.

“It can be nonsense, but the perception is important in this business and a QB that tries to resurrect your career using #0 does not shout QB serious,” he added.
The Jets selected Wilson with selection No. 2 on the NFL 2021 draft. He had 12-21 as a starter with 6,293 yards, 23 TouchDowns and 25 interceptions.
I was ready to be supporting during the 2023 season, but ended up starting 11 games instead of an injured Aaron Rodgers. He signed with the Broncos in 2024 once Rodgers returned.
