Four staff of the Frontier body (FC) were martyred and three other injured in an explosion of improvised explosive devices (FDI) in the Margate area on the outskirts of Quetta, police said on Friday.
The injured were transported to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) Quetta to receive treatment.
A strong police presence was deployed on the site after the explosion, while the pump removal personnel were called to ensure the area and verify any additional threat.
FC martyred staff were identified as Shahzad Amin, Naib Subedar Abbas, Sepoy Khalil and Sepoy Zahid. The injured include lance Naik Zafar, Naik Farooq lines and Sepoy Khurram Salem.
The security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to locate those responsible for the attack.
Pakistan recently occupied the second place in the 2025 Global Terrorism Index, with the number of deaths related to terror by 45% during the past year to 1,081.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, strongly condemned the attack, describing it as an “atrocious conspiracy” destined to destabilize the country. He expressed condolences to the families of martyred staff and prayed for the rapid recovery of the injured.
“These brave children of the ground have made the last sacrifice for peace in Baluchistan. His heroism and commitment will always be remembered with pride and gratitude,” said the minister.
