- It is likely that a new intelligent philips hue button starts in the coming months
- Test documents suggest that you will have a design similar to the original button.
- The button could work with the next Philips Hue AI assistant
It seems a significance, the company behind Philips Hue, is preparing to launch a new smart button to allow you to control your lights with a touch from anywhere in your home.
The news comes from Fabian de Hueblog.com, who saw a list for a new device from the significance on the website of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). All devices capable of sending radio signals must be registered in the FCC before they can be sold in the US.
Although there are no photos, we can obtain several details of the FCC presentation. The product is classified as a “digital transmission system”, and backup documents (including the location of its FCC approval label and its test report) reveal that it will be a small and circular device that uses Zigbee technology, with specifications very similar to the smart button of the original tone.
“There will be no functional differences with the previous model and the form in form will basically remain the same,” concludes Fabian. “However, the second generation Smart Smart button will be a bit larger and more angular, and the general design will be a bit more sophisticated.”
What to wait
We are great fans of the smart button Philips ORIGINAL HERE IN TECHRADAR. When he reviewed it in 2023, our reviewer Alistair Charlton thanked how easy it is to install using its wall mounting or a small adhesive disk. Anyone who chooses, the button itself is simply placed in its place magnetically, and can be removed and used as a remote when you want.
The smart button can perform two functions of your choice, one when you press once, and another when you press and hold. It is much simpler than the Switch Philips Hue Tap dial, which works as an attenuator with four programmable buttons in the center, but the smart button is a convenient and affordable way to operate its intelligent lights without using voice commands or an application.
What interests me is the time. We know that Signify will soon present an IA assistant for philips egg lights, which will use generative to create personalized lighting schemes. It will be interesting to see if we can use this assistant to program the button, or touch the button to travel the scene options generated by AI.
I wish it will also come in black. The touch dial switch is available in a colors choice, and a darker option would make the small button an even more discreet way to operate its lights.
