At least six terrorists were killed and another four injured during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) carried out by the security forces in the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Bannu District, the military media wing reported Friday.

The operation took place during the night from April 23 to 24, after reports of militant presence in the area. “The security forces carried out an intelligence -based operation in the Bannu district about the reported presence of Khwarij,” said public relations between services (ISPR) in a statement.

According to the ISPR, there was an intense exchange of fire during which six militants were killed and four others suffered wounds.

After the operation, a disinfecting effort was launched to ensure that the area was totally eliminated from any remaining threat. “Pakistan security forces are determined to eliminate the threat of terrorism in the country,” the statement added.

The operation is part of continuous efforts throughout the country to counteract militant activity and maintain stability in the restless regions.
