A 50 -year -old online motorcycle delivery pilot was shot dead by thieves in Karachi early on Saturday during an attempted robbery, since the growing tide of the city city continues endlessly endlessly the number of people killed in similar incidents from the beginning of the year to 34.
The last murder took place near the Bagh Korangi bridge in the Shah Faisal neighborhood, within the jurisdiction of the Sharafi Goth police station.
The victim was identified as Nadeem Ahmed, a father of three children and a mosque caregiver who also worked part -time as a delivery pilot to support his family.
Nadeem was traveling from northern Karachi to Korangi when he was attacked. After receiving a shot, he was urgently taken to the Jinnah postgraduate medical center in critical condition, but succumbed to his wounds during treatment. His body was delivered to relatives after legal formalities.
In statements to the media, Nadeem’s relatives expressed a deep anger and frustration, saying that the illegality in Karachi was pushing citizens common to fear and insecurity.
His nephew, Arsalan, said he tried to call his uncle around 4 am, just for a police officer to respond and inform about the shooting.
“Someone replied and asked me who was for him. When I said it was my uncle, they told me that they had shot him and that he was no longer alive,” said Arsalan.
The victim’s brother -in -law, Majid Ali, said there was a complete breakdown of the law and order in the city. “He was the father of three children, he returned home late due to responsibilities. We had asked him not to travel so late, but he insisted due to family obligations.”
Majid described Nadeem as a humble and devout man, known for his honesty. He was a resident of Korangi and served as Mobezzin in a local mosque, using his free hours to work as a rider for an online delivery service.
According to police and media reports, Shah Faisal Bridge has become a storm of robberies, without a visible repression of the authorities. Residents complain that incidents are increasing, especially during the last hours.
Official figures show that from January to April 2025, 34 citizens have been killed by thieves in Karachi. The breakdown includes five murders in January, 10 in February, nine in March and another 10 in April so far.
Citizens and community leaders have demanded an urgent and effective action of the Government and the agencies for the application of the law to stop the increase in street crimes.
