Peshawar:

The merchants, in the call of Jamaat-E-Islami (JI), observed a complete closing strike through Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP), including Peshawar, to express solidarity with the people of Gaza, during which all types of businesses remained completely closed.

Together with the merchants, the transport community also protested against Israel’s atrocities against innocent civilians in Gaza.

On this occasion, the merchants also took manifestations of protest and burned the Israeli flag.

All the main commercial areas of Peshawar, including the old walled city, Ashraf Road, Qissa Khwani Bazaar, Chowk Yadgar, Ramura Bazaar, Khyber Bazaar, Saddar, University Road and other shopping centers remained completely closed.

In the call of the JI and several commercial organizations, commercial activities throughout the country were completely suspended.

In Peshawar and other districts of the province, the major and minor markets remained closed and, during the protests in some areas, the protesters sang slogans against Israel and in support of the Palestinians.

In this sense, under the standard of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Tanziran Tajiran, a central protest field was established in Rambura Gate in Peshawar to express solidarity with the oppressed people of Palestine and protest against Israeli atrocities.

The protest was directed by the president of Tanzran Tanzran, Malik Mehr Elahi.

A large number of presidents of bazaars and members of the business community participated in the protest camp.

The president of the Peshawar Chamber, Shakeel Ahmad Saraf, also firmly condemned the aggression of Israel and India.

The protest camp was supported by the Pakistan Business Forum, the commercial wing of the peoples of Pakistan, other commercial associations and political and social figures that promised full support for the closing strike and promised to support any future action plan.

During their speeches in the camp, the participants demanded that the Government of Pakistan and the army impose a complete prohibition of the import and trade of Israeli products and companies.

They emphasized that it was time for a strong and decisive response to terrorism and the malicious designs of Israel and India.

The business community expressed a strong anger against Israel, India and anti-Islam elements and raised the slogans of ‘death to Israel and India’, filling the air with its songs.

The protesters had banners and waved Palestinian flags in solidarity, while the Israeli flags were burned during the demonstrations.

Merchants also declared that all Islamic countries must now join and raise the flag of jihad against antiislamic forces.
