Reserved lawyer to support Mahrang Baloch online

Rawalpindi:

A case has been registered against lawyer Jalila Haider at the Cyber Crime crime reports of the Federal Research Agency (FIA) in Islamabad for allegedly supporting Mahrang Baloch, head organizer of the Baloch Yekjehti Committee (Byc), on social networks.

According to the details, the case was presented under sections 9, 10 and 26-A of the Electronic Crime Prevention Law (PECA) 2016 on behalf of the State. Islamabad Cyber Crime Reporting Center, Aneesur Rehman, is the plaintiff in the case.

The complaint establishes that Mahrang Baloch appears under the fourth schedule under the Law of Anti -Terrorism by the Department of Interior of Baluchistan.

During the investigation, it was discovered that Jalila Haider supposedly shared content in support of Mahrang Baloch intentionally, an act that, according to the complaint, could spread the disturbances and anxiety between the public and within society.

Subsequently, there was a formal case and an investigation has been initiated.

On Friday, Mahrang and other leaders of the Balochjehti committee began a hunger strike to protest the alleged “torture” of the detainees by the prison staff and the transfer of activist Beebow Baloch to the Pelhin district jail.

Mahrang and several byc activists were arrested on March 22, accused of attacking the Civil Hospital of Quetta and inciting violence, after a police repression against their protest against alleged forced disappearances in Quetta.

Its arrest under section 3 of the Public Order maintenance ordinance caused a general condemnation of the defenders of the rights of Baloch and international human rights organizations.
