Police arrested Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf activist (PTI) Sanam Javed and her husband, Professor Atiq, near Kot Lakhpat’s jail in Lahore, according to Express News.
The couple was arrested for a strong police presence, with multiple vehicles involved in their arrest. They were taken to an unrelated location for subsequent processing.
The arrest occurred after the Court hearing related to the cases of May 9, in which Sanam Javed had been attending.
Sanam Javed had previously been involved in the political disturbances surrounding the incidents of May 9, which has led to a series of legal procedures against several members of the party.
The authorities have not revealed the exact charges against the couple at this time.
