Seventeen more terrorists were killed during a disinfecting operation carried out by security forces near the Hassan Khel area of the north of Waziristan, along the border between Pakistan-Afghanistan, public relations between services (ISPR) on Monday said on Monday.
According to the ISPR statement, the last operation took place during the night between April 27 and 28, after successful commitments where security forces had killed 54 militants during operations from April 25 to 27.
The wing of the military media declared that neutralized terrorists operated at the request of “Indian teachers” and were actively planning attacks within Pakistan.
The number of Khawarij Deleted during the three-day anti-infiltration operation has increased to 71, the statement added.
The security forces also recovered a cache of weapons, ammunition and explosives during the operation. The ISPR reaffirmed that the military remains determined to ensure the borders of the country and counteract all efforts destined to destabilize Pakistan.
Previously, on Sunday, security forces frustrated an attempt to infiltrate militants near the border between Pakistan-affanistan.
The movements of the militants were detected during the nights of 25 to 26 and 26-27, which led to a prolonged armed commitment. Intelligence reports suggested that the group intended to carry out significant attacks within Pakistan, supposedly under instructions from external actors.
Previously, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised security forces for his successful operation, describing him as a strong testimony of Pakistan’s progress in the war against terrorism.
In an official statement, the prime minister praised the troops for his “notable professionalism and timely action”, highlighting his success in repelling an attempt to infiltrate Fitna al Khwarij Terrorists from the other side of the Afghan border in the Hassan Khel area of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.
“The whole nation is firmly with our security forces in the fight against terrorism,” he said, reaffirming that Pakistan’s armed forces are still “resolved by defending the country’s borders and eradicating the scourge of terrorism.”
