The managing partner of the Washington commanders, Josh Harris, is ready to bring the team back to the Washington area, DC.
However, the name of the team is here to stay.
The commanders leaned on nostalgia with their video announcing their agreement to build a new stadium at the site of the old RFK Stadium in Washington, causing the winning field marshal of the Super Bowl Joe Theismn to narrate the video.

However, the name Redskins will not return, since Harris explained so much to Bret Baier in a “special report.”
“The name of the commanders has actually acquired a surprising type of element in our building,” Harris replied to Baier’s question about the name of Redskins that returns as part of this new stadium agreement. “So, people that certain types of players are difficult, who love football, are delegated commanders and Jayden [Daniels]For example, he is a commander, and are classified.

“And, you know, the commercial staff has gotten into it, and obviously, we are in a military city here. There are more military personnel than anywhere else, so we are moving forward with the name of the commanders, excited about that and not looking back.”
The mayor of Washington, Muriel Bowser, announced that the Government of the District of Columbia and the executives of the commanders reached an agreement to return to the RFK stadium site, which is now pending approval of the Council of the City of DC.
The legislators of the Congress supported Harris returning to the old stadium site with the condition that the team and the NFL would honor the old Redskins logo. Senator Steve Daines, a montification Republican, said he would support the organization in the future with his plan after “negotiations in good faith” with both entities.

“We were calling leaders in case you really woke up badly,” Daines said in November. “The irony that they were canceling the culture of the Native Americans as the Dei movement came too far. This is in honor of a Blackfeet chief who was born in Montana. It is very estimated. The Blackfeet tribe of Montana, its current president and tribal council signed a letter with a strong support to return the logo. Honora in the Indian country.
“We have good discussions with the NFL and the commanders. There is good faith in negotiations in the future that will allow this logo to be used again. Perhaps the income that goes to a base that could help the Native Americans in sports, etc.
Harris told Baier that hope is that construction will begin on the site in 2027, with the opening day aimed at 2030.

Baier also asked if the RFK stadium will continue to be the name despite being a new stadium.
“We are going to get closer as much as we can, right? So, I think that name should be part of that,” Harris replied.
