The historic free fall of Shedersur Sanders in the NFL draft last week was a shock for many, but not for the former NFL star, Eddie George.
Most of the NFL draft experts thought that Sanders was chosen in the first round, so so many NFL fans and analysts were surprised that he fell to the fifth round.
“I didn’t think it was a little shock. I thought the NFL spoke, the draft spoke and said: ‘Hey, we don’t have a first round rating in this child’ and that’s fine,” George said during a recent appearance in “Do not give me Dakich” of Outkick.

“I know that many people thought that he was the first three selections, etc.
The Cleveland Browns, despite taking the Oregon Campo Marshal, Dillon Gabriel, with their third round selection, selected Sanders with their fifth round selection, the 144th general selection in the NFL draft.
George said that Sanders’s draft slide will become his “best time.”
“I think this will be the best time of Shedeur. Now he has the opportunity to go and compete for work and show the people who, hey, you missed a great opportunity. You know, I tell the children as long as it is not how you start in the NFL, this is how you finish.

The Browns currently have five quarterbacks on their list, but do not have a Claro titular field marshal. Deshaun Watson returned to rupting his Achilles tendon in January after he underwent surgery in that same tendon in October 2024, and his state for the next season is in doubt.
The Browns acquired Kenny Pickett in an exchange with the Philadelphia Eagles and signed Joe Flacco with a one -year contract before the NFL draft. With the additions of Gabriel and Sanders to a Quarterback room already full, it remains to be seen who will receive the assent of week 1.
George trained against Sanders last season with Tennessee State and said that the former Colorado star can “turn it.”

George had a nine -year race in the NFL as a runner. He spent eight seasons with the Tennessee Titans and one with the Dallas Cowboys. George won the offensive rookie of the year and was appointed for the Pro-Bowl team four times, while it was a first team of the first team.
He hastened for 10,441 yards and 68 touchdowns in his career.
Bowling Green hired George in March after spending the last four seasons as chief coach at Tennessee State. He was appointed the coach of the year of Big South-Ohio Valley Conference of the year in 2024.
