The 2025 NFL draft brought its fair part of surprises, but Sheders’ pen Sanders became a very discussed topic.
The older brother of Shedeur and former Buffaloes teammate of Colorado, Shilo Sanders, previously declared for this year’s draft. But security was not widely considered as a main NFL perspective that enters the annual event.
While Shedeur had to wait until the last day of the draft to know where his NFL trip would begin, Shilo never received a phone call from a franchise. His path to professional football ranks would go through the route of the non -recruited free agent.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed Sanders with a contract shortly after the draft concluded, for the pleasure of his father of the Hall of Fame. Deion Sanders thanked the Buccaneers organization on Saturday, a day when the two dreams of his children’s NFL came true.
“I am very grateful. Tampa is a wonderful place,” Deion said during a Twitch current. “Coach [Todd] Bowles is a type of defensive mentality. He is brilliant. “The two -time Super Bowl winner took another step by making a call to the general manager of Tampa Bay, Jason Licht.

“Coach Prime called him Saturday night and thanked him for giving (Shilo) a fair shot,” Licht said, according to Joe Bucs.
Bucs chief coach, Todd Bowles, then cited Sanders football skills, since he clarified any possible concern that the team was giving the defense an opportunity as a personal favor for his father.

“I think he is a good soccer player,” Bowles said during an interview with Siriusxm NFL Radio. “It is a great Tackleler and knows the game very well; you can see the game very well. So giving it the opportunity to play, we believe it has a shot to help us from a security point of view and from the point of view of the special teams.
“So I am excited to put it here and see how it moves. I saw him address all year.

Sanders finished each of his two seasons in Colorado with 67 total tacle. He began his career in university football in South Carolina. He transferred to the state of Jackson in 2021, where he joined his father and his younger brother.
On Friday, the Shedeur saga was surprising to effectively inexplicable. Each team, including the franchises that entered this year’s draft with interrogation signs in the Quarterback position, approved selecting former Colorado Field Marshal in the first, second, third or fourth round.
The Cleveland Browns selected Sanders in the fifth round. Shortly after the national team, Sanders turned to social networks to share a short but emotional message: “Thank God.”
