Islamabad:

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has urged the United Nations Secretary, Antonio Guterres, to advise Delhi to act in a responsible manner and exercise a restriction amid the ongoing tensions, stating that the Indian weapon of the waters of the Indo basin was unacceptable for Pakistan.

Prime Minister Shehbaz celebrated a telephone conversation with Secretary General Guterres that focused on recent developments in South Asia. During the phone call, Shehbaz said that Pakistan would defend his sovereignty and territorial integrity with all the force in case of any misfortune on the part of India.

Since last Tuesday, tensions have intensified between Pakistan and India after an attack against tourists in Pahalgam in illegally occupied Indians Jammu and Kashmir (Iiojk) who killed 26 tourists. Without providing any evidence, India blamed Pakistan for the incident shortly after it happened.

During the telephone call, the prime minister said that Pakistan condemned terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, while highlighting the significant sacrifices provided by the country in World War against terrorism.

While rejected the Indian accusations against Pakistan as without foundation, the prime minister categorically rejected any attempt to link Pakistan with the Pahalgam incident and reiterated his call to a transparent and neutral investigation into the incident.

The prime minister expressed serious concerns about the attempts of India to delegitimize the fight for the freedom of Kashmiro by using the ghost of “terrorism”, and highlighted terrorism sponsored by the Indian state widely documented in Iiojk.

The Prime Minister told the UN Chief that the Indian Armament of the Waters of the Indo Basin was unacceptable, and pointed out that the water was the lifeguard of 240 million Pakistani. He stressed that Pakistan will defend his sovereignty and territorial integrity with all the force in the case of any misfortune by India.

The Prime Minister encouraged the UN Secretary General to advise India to act in responsibility and exercise restriction. He also urged the UN Secretary General to play his role for a fair resolution of the Kashmir’s problem, according to the relevant resolutions of the Security Council.

The Prime Minister reaffirmed the unwavering commitment of Pakistan to promote international peace and security as a responsible member of the international community and a non -permanent member of the UN Security Council.

In the UN, a secretary of the secretary general said that Guterres spoke separately with Prime Minister Shebaz Sharif and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of India, Subrahmanyam Jaishankar. During the conversations, the secretary general noticed the importance of pursuing justice through legal means.

“The Secretary General also expressed his deep concern about the increase in tensions between India and Pakistan and stressed the need to avoid confrontation that could result in tragic consequences. Meanwhile, in Washington, the spokeswoman for the United States Department of the United States, Tammy Bruce, told journalists that Secretary of State Marco Rubio would urge his Indian and Pakistani counterparts not to climb, in his phone calls in one day or two.

“The secretary hopes to speak with the Foreign Ministers of Pakistan and India as soon as today or tomorrow,” Bruce said. “We are reaching both parties and telling him, of course, that they do not intensify the situation,” he added.

The spokesman declared that the Rubio Secretary was also encouraging other national leaders and foreign ministers to reach the two countries in southern Asia amid tensions that have skyrocketed among the arch -rival since last week.

Previously, Great Britain, home of one of the largest Indian and Pakistani communities in the world, requested calm between the Indian and Pakistani communities in London after legislators expressed concern that tensions in the region could spill into the diaspora.

“These problems have been discussed for a long time with the passion in British streets and we call both parties, all community leaders, all involved to ask for calm in a moment of tension in the region,” said Foreign Minister Hamish Falconer, Parliament.
