Surfshark has just become the first VPN provider to present a Public Privacy Public Service.
Unlike DNS servers that your Internet Services Supplier (ISP) offers you by default, Surfshark DNS promises to ever register or track any activity, and is completely free to use.
Already offering one of the best VPN services in the market, the new Surfshark service seeks to help people and organizations aware of privacy to avoid online follow -up.

“By offering a free and privacy -oriented DNS service, we are not only looking for Surfshark’s commitment to make the Internet a safer place for everyone, but also encourage people, organizations, as well as NGOs to take their first steps to improve online privacy,” said Karolis Kaciulis, leading systems engineer in Surfshark.

However, the DNS servers offered by the default ISP are not necessarily private.

However, Surfshark Dns promises to be different. It operates under a strict non-Logs policy, which means that there is no collection, storage or exchange of navigation activity. It is also compatible with safe DNS protocols such as DOT, DOH and DOQ to maintain private navigation activity.

Many technology enthusiasts are used to opting for alternative public DNS servers to improve their general Internet performance. However, none of them, Kaciulis He explains that companies are mainly focused on security and privacy.
He told Techradar: “Recognizing this gap, Surfshark decided to offer its own public DNS servers, aligning with its main mission to provide a safer and more private connection.”
A third -party DNS server such as Surfshark DNS could improve the general performance of the network. For example, it is less likely to overload. It also promises to offer a better understanding of geolocation, which can provide users with closer servers.
Such service can also help users to avoid online censorship that ISPs can enforce at the DNS level.
Despite these benefits, Kaciulis does not recommend using Surfshark DNS along with the virtual private network (VPN) of Surfshark.
“Our VPN inherently includes DNS protection, which makes a separate DNS configuration redundant for users,” he said.
Similar to its non -log vpn, however, Surfshark now plans Put your DNS NO-LOG policy soon with an independent third-party audit.
