The Vice Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and DG ISPR, the Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry gen, are aimed at a joint press conference amid increasing tensions between Pakistan and India after the attack of the Pahalgama on April 22 in Jammu and Cashmir illegally occupied (Iiojk), which left at least 26 dead.
India has accused Pakistan of participation without presenting any evidence. Nueva Delhi responded with punitive actions, including the suspension of the Indo Water Treaty, visas revocations and the closure of the Wagah-Attari crossing. In turn, Islamabad expelled Indian diplomats, canceled visas for Indian nationals (except Sij pilgrims), and closed their side of the main border.
The information minister, Attaullah Tarar, warned that Pakistan has a credible intelligence of the possible Indian military action within 24 to 36 hours, labeling the statements of India “without foundation and invented.”
The DG ISPR, addressing the media a day before, shared what he called an “irrefutable” evidence of terrorism sponsored by the Indian State within Pakistan, claiming that India supplies weapons, FDI and explosives to militants aimed at civilians and security forces.
Despite the growing confrontation, Pakistan reiterated his denial of participation in Kashmir’s attack and offered to cooperate in a credible investigation. Defense Minister Khawaja Asif also warned that the situation could in a large -scale war if he did not decline.
The UN has urged both nations to exercise “maximum moderation” to avoid greater deterioration.
