The Department of Meteorology of Pakistan (PMD) predicted on Thursday a welcome change in the weather, announcing the beginning of the generalized rain throughout the country that is expected to break the ongoing heat wave.
According to the PMD, rain showers accompanied by thunderstorms and hail are probably in several regions, including Islamabad and its surroundings, where partially cloudy skies are forecast and heavy downpours in some areas.
In Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, districts such as Chitral, Dir, Swat, Abbottabad, Mansehra and Haripur are expected to receive rain and farms. A similar climate is predicted in Shangla, Buner, Malakand, Waziristan, Kohat and Hagu.
Other areas such as Lakki Marwat, Bajaur, Mohmand, Karak, Khyber, Peshawar and Swabi are also on alert for possible hail and strong showers. The rain is also likely in Mardan, Kurram, Dera Ismail Khan and Bannu.
In Punjab, rain is predicted for Rawalpindi, Murree, Galiyat, Atock, Chakwal, Jhelum and Mandi Bahauddin. Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad and Sialkot are also expected to receive rain.
Lahore, Nanowal, Sahiwal, Kasur, Okara and Faisalabra can experience thunderstorms and hail. Additional areas such as Toba Tek Singh, Jhang, Khushab, Sargodha, Mianwali, Dera Ghazi Khan, Bahawalnagar and Bahawalpur are also on the list.
In Sindh, the night thunderstorms are probably in Sukkur, Ghotki, Shikarpur and Jacobabad, with similar conditions in Larkana, Shaheed Benazirabad and Khairpur.
Meanwhile, parts of Baluchistan, including Quetta, Ziarat, Zhob, Musa Khel, Chaman and Mastung, you can also see the rain later a day. Other affected districts could include Pishin, Killa Abdullah, Killa Saifullah, Lorealai, Barkhan, Sibi, Khuzdar, Chagai and Noshki.
In Peshawar, light night showers helped improve climatic conditions. However, dust storms and hail remain a concern in lowland areas, including Peshawar and Bannu.
On Wednesday, Peshawar registered a maximum of 39 ° C, Dera Ismail Khan 43 ° C, Bannu 42 ° C and Mardan and Takht Bhai 39 ° C. In the northern areas, Kalam recorded 30 ° C, Malam Jabba 27 ° C and Chitral 35 ° C.
The PMD has advised public and relevant authorities to remain alert and take the necessary precautions in the midst of changing climatic conditions.
