United Against India, not against Afghanistan: Fazl

Islamabad:

The Chief of Jui-F, Maulana Fazlur Rehman, has said that although the nation would join in case of conflict with India, the same unit cannot be expected if the tensions intensify with Afghanistan, and added that “this is something that must be understood.”

He made these comments while approaching “solidarity with Palestine and tribute to the Shaheed Maulana Hamidul Haq conference.” Fazl emphasized the importance of unity and the need for continuity in struggles led by religious and political movements.

Pointing to the ruling elite, Fazl said that during the colonial era, the current political class was put on the side of the British. “Those who were loyal to the British were rewarded with states and privileges, and continue to enjoy those benefits to this day,” he added.

The Chief of Jui-F highlighted what he called the “fragmentation” of the Muslim world, noting that a “divided body” cannot defend himself. “We faced multidimensional crises. Afghanistan suffered 20 years of war before achieving victory, and just when their ‘wounds were fresh’, the issue of Palestine broke out.”

Drawing parallels between the global treatment of the Taliban and Hamas, he said that both have been labeled as terrorist organizations. “The conflict began on October 7. On October 14, during our million March, a Hamas representative joined us. I call the representatives of Hamas Mujahideen,” he said.

He also remembered his visit to Express Solidarity after the martyrdom of Hamas leader, Ismail Haniyeh, and emphasized the importance of Muslim unit.
