A woman was killed on Friday after an accelerated water tank truck hit a motorcycle near Korangi’s crossing in Karachi, police officers and rescue confirmed.
According to the initial reports, the oil tanker crushed the victim while driving the motorcycle. The driver fled the scene immediately after the incident. In response, enraged citizens set on fire the oil tanker before the police arrived.
Rescue officials 1122 confirmed that the fire was extinguished later and that no additional victims were reported on the scene.
Separately, a passenger bus overturned near the Sanctuary of Samundari Baba in Gulshan-E-Hadeed, leaving three people dead and at least eight other wounds.
Rescue teams transported the injured to a nearby hospital, with ongoing operations at the time of informing.
In another incident on the Quaidabad bridge, a motorcyclist suffered critical injuries after being hit by a truck. The authorities declared that the driver fled the scene, leaving the vehicle.
The accident series has intensified public concern about traffic management and heavy vehicles regulation in the city.
