A great protest was carried out outside the high commission of India in Aldwych, London, organized by the United Kingdom chapter of the Pakistan-Nawaz Muslim League (PML-N).
The demonstration was in response to what the organizers described as “accusations without foundation” made by India against Pakistan after the April 22 incident in Pahalgam, located in Jammu and Kashmir occupied by India-illegally.
The protesters stirred Pakistani flags and wore banners while sanging slogans such as “Pakistan Zindabad”, “Kashmir belongs to Pakistan” and “with Indian terrorism.”
They also raised songs that support Pakistan’s military leadership. The slogans also headed against Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the ideology of Hindutva, including “Modi is a terrorist” and “rejecting Hindutva ideology.”
Ahsan Dar, president of PML-N UK, went to the crowd and said that the meeting was a reflection of the connection of the Pakistani abroad with their homeland.
He accused India of launching a false flag campaign blaming Pakistan without presenting any evidence about Pahalgam’s incident.
Giving also pointed out that the members of several political groups, including PTI and PML-N, participated in the protest, qualifying it as a sign of national unity.
The protest remained peaceful but caught the attention of the media. The London police were present on the site and administered security.
